Jim Phillips
This is the web site for Jim Phillips. I have a wife (Janis) and two
sons , but they don't have any thing to say, so this site is all mine. I am an electrical engineer,
and work for the University of Iowa in the space plasma group in the Department
of Physics and Astronomy.
Big interests of mine are alternate energy, power electronics, and electric
vehicles. I have been able to pull these interests together by desigining
and building three phase induction motor drives for electric vehicles.
I have two electric vehicles under construction:
Electric garden tracter using a two hp AC induction motor.
1972 BMW model 2002 with a 20hp AC induction motor.
